🐾 Veterinary Surgeon | Park House Veterinary Centre, Stafford | £35,000–£80,000 DOE
Park House Veterinary Centre is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our 9-vet small animal team, as we say goodbye to a colleague heading off to Australia.
Why Park House?
We're a progressive small animal practice with the caseload and kit to back it up:
- Certificate holders in medicine, cardiology, and two in surgery — most cases worked up and treated in-house
- Visiting CT and MRI scanners for advanced, non-invasive imaging
- Planning approval in progress for a brand-new 32-slice Canon CT scanner, a new dental suite, and an ultrasound room
- Two state-of-the-art theatres for orthopaedics, neurosurgery, and laparoscopy
- Recently added electrochemotherapy equipment and training
The rota
- 4-day week, equal share of ops and consult shifts
- On-call just 1:6 — Saturday morning consults only (8.30–12), no extra Saturdays
- Two long weekends per 6-week block
- Admin time built into every day, so you get a proper lunch and finish on time

Meet the team
- Ben — Founder (2001). Enjoys all aspects of small animal practice, especially clinical pathology, and does much of our in-house cytology.
- Nick — RCVS Advanced Practitioner in small animal surgery. Leads on CT-guided correction of limb and spinal deformities, TPLO, fracture repairs, and thoracic/spinal surgery.
- Katie — Advanced Practitioner in small animal medicine. Focuses on complex medical cases using imaging and laparoscopy for non-invasive diagnostics.
- Geoff — Advanced Practitioner status in ultrasound and cardiology, joined 2021.
- Kathryn — Soft tissue surgeon with certificates in Advanced Veterinary Practice and small animal surgery; recently awarded Advanced Practitioner status.
- Dawn — RVC graduate (1977) with a career in mixed practice; now splits her time with us and training other vets at Improve International.
- Jonah — Graduated 2022. Enjoys small animal medicine and surgery, particularly ultrasonography, dentistry, and ophthalmology.
- Peta — From New Zealand, graduated Massey University in 2021. Enjoys all areas of the job, especially emergency cases.

Park House was a founding practice of VetThing (November 2025), which has let us invest heavily in equipment, training, and facilities — including that new CT suite currently in planning.

- £35,000–£80,000, depending on experience and qualifications

Location
