At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a veterinary surgeon with a surgical certificate, or someone highly experienced with surgical procedures to join our fantastic team. The role offers a varied caseload of consultations, operations, and diagnostics. Ideally, we're looking for a full-time vet to join us. A typical full-time role is covering 40 hours per week with shifts being 08:30 – 19:00, over a four-day week. There’s also the 1:3 Saturday shifts (08:30 – 14:00), and our shared 1:10 on-call rota.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.

  • You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice.
  • You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

About Us

Our RCVS-accredited tier 3 Veterinary hospital is growing, so we are looking for an enthusiastic experienced small animal veterinary surgeon with a certificate or equivalent surgical experience to join our fantastic team of 14 Veterinary Surgeons, 20 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Registered Nurses, 6 Animal Nursing Assistants in our purpose-built, excellently equipped hospital on the edge of a lovely Cotswold market town. Among our Vets are a Specialist in Zoo & Wildlife Medicine, and Advanced Practitioners in Small Animal Medicine and ECC. Plus, we have regular visits from a referral dermatologist and Veterinary Specialist Surgeon. We receive referrals nationally for exotic pets and for radioiodine therapy of hyperthyroid cats and locally for outpatient CT scanning, and for some internal medicine and orthopaedic-surgery cases. We have all the kit that you’d come to expect of a modern practice with: full lab facilities, a DR x-ray system, dental x-ray, 64-slice CT scanner, a wide range of flexible and rigid endoscopes, ultrasound scanner with colour Doppler, full orthopaedic kit, slit lamp, tonometer, etc.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
