Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

Shreen Vets - Gillingham, Dorset

Salary up to £65,000 DOE, Welcome Bonus up to £5,000 and Relocation Allowance up to £5,000

At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

Shreen Vets, part of ivc, is looking for a confident and personable Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet who enjoys the variety of first-opinion practice, values building lasting client relationships and wants to be part of a collaborative team where high-quality patient care and teamwork come first. With the opportunity to take on occasional sole charge, you'll enjoy clinical autonomy while always knowing support is close by.

A Varied First-Opinion Caseload

If you enjoy the balance of consulting and surgery, this role offers the best of both. You'll benefit from two dedicated operating days each week alongside a rewarding consulting caseload, giving you the opportunity to maintain and develop your surgical skills. Our caseload is predominantly routine, allowing you to build excellent continuity of care, work cases up in-house and develop trusted relationships with both clients and their pets.

Modern Facilities, Exceptional Support

We've invested in the facilities needed to deliver outstanding patient care, including brand-new digital radiography, ultrasound, flexible endoscopy, capnography and a comprehensive in-house laboratory. You'll also be supported by an experienced and proactive RVN team who run their own successful nurse clinics, alongside an in-house Physiotherapy Certificate Holder. We actively encourage CPD and certificate study, helping you continue to grow both clinically and professionally.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
