Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

Kingston Vets - Sherborne, Dorset

Salary up to £70,000 FTE DOE plus relocation allowance up to £5,000 and welcome bonus up to £5,000

At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

Kingston Vets, part of inspiring vet care, has been caring for pets and supporting owners across the local community for more than 100 years. We’re proud of the reputation we’ve built and continue to grow as a forward-thinking practice with a strong focus on excellent patient care. We’re now looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and experienced team.

About the Role

You’ll enjoy a varied mix of cats, dogs, rabbits and small furries, with a real emphasis on continuity of care and seeing cases through to a high standard. The role offers a great balance of consultations and surgery, with plenty of routine procedures alongside orthopaedics, dentistry and a variety of interesting cases to keep every day different.

Facilities and Team

You’ll work across our two purpose-built practices in Yeovil and Sherborne, both offering excellent facilities to support you in delivering high-quality care. These include dedicated dental suites with dental X-ray, digital radiography, ultrasound and laparoscopic equipment, alongside separate cat and dog wards and isolation facilities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
