Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

New Street Vets - Honiton, Devon

Up To £70,000 DOE

At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

New Street Vets, part of IVC Evidensia, is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and experienced team as we begin an exciting new chapter alongside our sister practice, Otter Vets. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive, forward-thinking team where collaboration, clinical excellence and exceptional patient care are at the heart of everything we do.

A Varied Caseload with Plenty of Opportunity

No two days are the same at New Street Vets. As a busy first-opinion small animal practice, you'll enjoy a diverse caseload including cats, dogs, rabbits, small furries, the occasional chicken and even local wildlife. You'll benefit from an excellent balance of consultations and surgery, with the flexibility to focus more heavily on surgery if that's where your interests lie. Working closely with colleagues across both practices, you'll have the opportunity to share knowledge, broaden your experience and enjoy exposure to emergency and critical care cases, ensuring plenty of clinical variety.

Modern Facilities, Community Feel

Housed in a charming converted property close to Honiton's high street, our practice combines a welcoming community atmosphere with modern facilities. You'll have access to dedicated consulting rooms, a dental radiography suite, a recently installed ultrasound machine and a comprehensive in-house laboratory, all designed to help you deliver outstanding patient care. With an exciting refurbishment also underway, there's never been a better time to join us.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
