Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

Midforest Veterinary Practice - West Totton, Hampshire

Salary up to £70,000 DOE, welcome bonus up to £5,000 and relocation allowance up to £5,000

At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

For over 40 years, Midforest Vets, part of ivc, has been part of the local community, building lasting relationships with generations of clients and their pets.

Now, we're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team and become part of a practice where you can enjoy your clinical work, develop your interests and have the support of an experienced team around you.

First Opinion With Plenty of Variety

If you enjoy the variety of first-opinion practice, you'll feel right at home here.

  • You'll see a varied caseload of cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs, with a great mix of consultations, surgery and medical work-ups.
  • You'll have the opportunity to follow your own cases and build strong relationships with both clients and their pets.
  • There's also a busy dentistry caseload, making this a great opportunity for a vet who enjoys surgery and wants to develop their clinical skills further.

Whatever your interests, you'll have the clinical freedom to develop them and the support to keep learning.

A Team That Has Your Back

You'll be joining a close team of four Veterinary Surgeons, six experienced RVNs and a dedicated Client Care Team who genuinely enjoy working together.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
