Veterinary Surgeon

Looking for a supportive practice where you can develop your skills and enjoy a great balance of autonomy and teamwork?

Medivet Newcastle-under-Lyme is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, well-established team. This is a varied GP role, ideal for a vet who enjoys a mixture of consulting, medical and surgical cases and wants the opportunity to continue developing their clinical skills in a supportive environment.

You’ll work three days per week at our Newcastle-under-Lyme practice and one day per week at our Stoke-on-Trent practice, giving you the opportunity to work across two established teams. Our practices are well-equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory facilities and dedicated preparation and theatre space.

The role includes one/two days sole charge per week, but we want to be clear that you’re never without clinical support. During sole-charge periods, we’re looking for a vet who is confident managing consults and routine surgeries independently, but there is experienced clinical support available down the road whenever you need it. You’ll have the autonomy to work independently while knowing that support is close at hand.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
