Looking for a veterinary role that can genuinely grow with you?

Whether you’d like to develop a clinical interest, work towards a certificate, or simply find a better work-life balance, Hemsworth Vets for Pets offers the flexibility and support to build a career around what matters to you.

You’ll join a friendly, collaborative practice where your ideas are welcomed, your development is encouraged, and you’ll have the facilities and support to deliver excellent patient care.

A practice with plenty of character

Our standalone practice is based in a beautifully converted former fire station, creating a bright, spacious and modern environment for our team, clients and patients.

The practice is fully equipped with excellent facilities, giving you the tools, time and space to work cases up thoroughly and provide high-quality care locally.

We’ve developed a loyal and supportive client base, and as the practice continues to grow, there’s real scope to develop our services, introduce new ideas and help shape what comes next.

Most importantly, you’ll be joining a welcoming team with a shared commitment to great clinical standards, collaboration and making a difference to the pets and people in our community.

The role

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week and, importantly, there are no out-of-hours requirements, helping you maintain a healthy and sustainable work-life balance.

We’re looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with:

  • Experience in small animal general practice
  • Confidence working sole charge when required
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • A collaborative approach
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality patient and client care

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
