Ansaldo Nuclear is looking for an apprentice to support the Security Controller, working on defence contracts and support in building and maintaining the security management system. You will manage the clearance and compliance process for employees and contractors, liaising with the HR team and external partners.

Day to Day Tasks

- Support site pass applications
- Process and record all vetting applications / clearances
- Monitor existing clearance expiries and proactively follow up on outstanding requests
- Carry out aftercare to healthily maintain all types of security clearance, updating ID when required
- Ensure all vetting requests are recorded and actioned in a timely and efficient manner
- Provide support in the application of all types of vetting (BPSS, SC, ESC, DV, EDV)
- Deliver a first-class security clearance administration process
- Maintain a controlled access to restricted areas within the main office
- Work closely with HR on the BPSS process and maintain the BPSS register
- Support the security controller with project specific security briefings
- Manage and update the PMI database system
- Assist in security audits both external and internal
- Take ownership of general day to day administration within the security department
- Update and maintain records of new starters and project vetting requirements
- Liaise with external agencies such as UK National Security Vetting, the Disclosure and Barring Service and our client security / site passes
