Contract Job Title: Vice President, Fund/Client Accounting

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Fund/Client Accounting to join our Real Estate SPV Accounting and Financial Reporting team in Alternative Operations. This role is located in Wrocław, Poland.

Team Overview

The team provides a full site of accounting and administrative services to support real estate funds and fund management in SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) management. The business includes a number of funds and SPVs in various countries for different clients. In this context, monthly reporting needs to be prepared for all entities. Our team is the key contact for all parties involved – clients, service providers, auditors, tax advisors – and we operate in a wide range of services for our clients and their assets.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Demonstrates strong technical accounting expertise, with solid knowledge and practical application of multiple GAAP frameworks, including analysis of complex accounting issues and appropriate treatment.
  • Ability to interpret, apply, and document accounting requirements across various GAAPs to support accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and consistent policy implementation.
  • Proven experience assessing transactions and reporting impacts under different accounting standards, with the ability to provide clear guidelines to stakeholders on technical accounting matters.
  • Conducts reporting services (both financial and regulatory reporting) on behalf of clients including determining net asset values, calculating SPV performance, allocating expenses, and preparing reports.
  • Manages relationships with clients and ensures all questions are answered and issues with SPV calculations and accounting are resolved.
  • Manages processes for checking for the completeness and accuracy of disclosure in financial statements.
  • Provides oversight to ensure that accounting records are maintained in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Manages the drafting of financial reports for clients to review SPV performance.
  • Communicates reports and accounting intricacies to clients.
  • Reviews complex general ledger transactions and monthly financial and regulatory reporting.
  • Performs responsibilities in the areas of driving improvement plans, targeting efficiencies, enhancing processes, and specialist review functions.
  • Provides guidance to teams on implementation of new policies to follow regulations.
  • Manages external as well as internal audits & checks the work of more junior team members.
  • Reviews reports completed by more junior staff. Interacts with clients in answering questions regarding SPV reports and accounting processes (no direct reports but may provide guidance to less experienced team members.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Min. 7-10 years of total work experience in the field of accounting.
  • Experience at a Big Four accounting firm would be an advantage.
  • ACCA certificate or similar as an advantage.
  • Real estate and investment accounting experience/education as a plus.
  • Knowledge of German fund accounting law (KAGB, KARBV) as a plus.
  • Fluent English.
  • German knowledge as an advantage.
  • Experience with preparing and auditing financial statements as a plus.
