VP – Living Sector Asset Management, UK
The Opportunity:
A rare opportunity to join the leadership team of a truly world-class investment management business, with a significant UK operational living real estate portfolio.
This is a senior position encompassing true team leadership. We are seeking a VP who will play a leading role in the day-to-day direction of the UK Asset Management function, shaping portfolio strategy, developing the team, and acting as a senior commercial partner to operating partners and internal stakeholders.
The mandate is broad and highly strategic, with responsibility for driving investment performance across a large, complex portfolio of operational real estate assets.
The Role:
The VP will be accountable for maximising long-term portfolio performance through active asset management. This will include shaping business plans, challenging operating performance, allocating capital, and identifying opportunities to grow income and enhance asset value.
Success will be measured by financial outcomes, strategic execution, and leadership impact, rather than the production of portfolio reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and help grow the UK Asset Management team, establishing clear priorities, high standards, and a strong culture of ownership and accountability.
- Define and execute portfolio and asset-level strategies designed to maximise long-term investment performance.
- Take ownership of commercial performance across the portfolio, driving occupancy, pricing, EBITDA, NOI, and valuation growth.
- Work closely with operating partners, constructively challenging performance across pricing, labour, quality, capital deployment, and broader strategic direction.
- Build and manage senior-level relationships with operating and joint venture partners.
- Identify and execute value creation initiatives, including redevelopment, extensions, repositioning, operational improvement programmes, and commercial or lease restructurings.
- Develop recommendations around hold, sell, acquire, and recapitalisation strategies.
- Prioritise capital allocation across the portfolio and present investment recommendations to executive leadership and Investment Committee.
- Support acquisitions, underwriting, due diligence, integration, and disposals.
- Partner closely with Investments, Finance, Legal, Development, and Capital Markets to deliver portfolio objectives.
- Develop a strong understanding of market dynamics and use market intelligence to identify emerging risks and opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
