Vice President – Commercial Real Estate Debt Asset Management

London | £110,000–£130,000 + Bonus

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Real Estate Debt professional to take on a highly visible Asset Management position supporting one of the world's leading global investment banks.

This is a senior, hands-on role with responsibility for an institutional portfolio of UK and European commercial real estate loans. You will work directly with borrowers, sponsors and senior stakeholders across the post-close lifecycle, combining sophisticated CRE credit analysis with loan and asset management, portfolio oversight and relationship management.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role within the mandate and become a senior member of the team, with significant responsibility, senior stakeholder exposure and genuine influence.

Working closely with the senior relationship lead, you will become a key day-to-day contact for the client and a trusted deputy, requiring strong CRE debt expertise, sound commercial judgement, leadership capability and the gravitas to build trusted relationships at a senior level.

The role

You will take significant responsibility for the ongoing asset management of a portfolio of complex commercial real estate loans, including:

  • Managing the day-to-day performance of assigned CRE loans and maintaining regular dialogue with borrowers, sponsors and institutional stakeholders
  • Reviewing and assessing borrower requests, consents, waivers, amendments and other significant loan events
  • Analysing property and loan performance, including cash flow, NOI/NCF, DSCR, debt yield, valuations and covenant compliance
  • Monitoring business plans, leasing activity, capital expenditure and development/construction progress
  • Identifying emerging credit risks, loan events and performance triggers
  • Reviewing quarterly asset reporting and producing high-quality portfolio and management reporting for senior stakeholders
  • Reviewing construction draws and other significant funding events
  • Supporting decision-making across transitional, development, repositioning and stabilised assets
  • Working across senior, mezzanine and other structured CRE debt positions
  • Providing guidance and support to colleagues and helping drive high standards across the team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for

We are particularly interested in individuals who have developed their careers within a bank, institutional lender, real estate debt fund, private credit investor or investment manager.

Previous investment-bank experience would be highly relevant, although strong candidates from other institutional CRE lending environments are equally encouraged to apply.

You may currently be operating at Vice President, Associate Director, Senior Asset Manager, Portfolio Manager, Lending Manager or an experienced AVP/Senior Associate level and be ready to take on greater responsibility and client exposure.

Relevant experience could include:

  • Commercial Real Estate Finance
  • Real Estate Debt
  • CRE Lending
  • Debt Asset Management
  • Portfolio Management
  • Real Estate Credit
  • Private Credit

Key experience

  • Strong commercial real estate debt, lending or debt asset management experience
  • Significant experience managing or monitoring CRE loans following origination
  • Strong understanding of CRE credit and underwriting principles
  • Confidence analysing complex property, borrower and loan-level financial information
  • Experience dealing directly with borrowers, sponsors and senior stakeholders
  • Strong Excel, reporting and analytical capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Exposure to major property sectors including office, industrial/logistics, retail and multifamily would be valuable.

Experience of structured CRE lending, development or construction finance, transitional assets, senior/mezzanine debt and metrics including IRR, NPV, DSCR, debt yield and NOI/NCF would also be advantageous.

We would not expect every applicant to have experience across all of these areas.

Why consider it?

This is an unusually strong opportunity for someone who wants to combine hands-on CRE debt responsibility with first-hand exposure to a major global investment-bank environment.

You will sit close to the client and the underlying portfolio, gaining detailed insight into how decisions are made while becoming an increasingly important part of a high-profile institutional relationship.

For an ambitious and commercially minded CRE debt professional, the opportunity offers:

  • Exceptional exposure to a leading global investment bank
  • A complex and sophisticated institutional CRE debt portfolio
  • Significant borrower, sponsor and senior stakeholder interaction
  • Exposure to important loan events, waivers, amendments and credit decisions
  • The opportunity to become the trusted deputy to the senior relationship lead
  • A highly visible position with genuine influence across the mandate
  • Meaningful scope to develop further leadership responsibility
  • A highly credible platform for longer-term progression within institutional real estate debt

Salary: £110,000–£130,000 + bonus

Location: London

This opportunity will particularly suit someone who enjoys being close to the detail, understands both the numbers and the relationships behind a loan portfolio, and wants to become an integral part of a high-profile institutional mandate.
