Vice President, Commercial Sales & Marketing (EMEA)
The Vice President, Commercial Sales & Marketing (EMEA) is responsible for leading all commercial activities across the EMEA region, including direct sales leadership and regional marketing strategy. This executive will drive revenue growth, strengthen market position, and ensure cohesive execution across sales and marketing functions. The role requires a highly visible, customer-focused leader who can operate effectively in a complex, matrixed global organization while spending significant time in the field with customers and teams.
This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President & General Manager, EMEA.
The leader may be based anywhere within the EMEA region, with proximity to a Bio-Techne site strongly preferred. Due to the customer-facing nature of the role, travel up to 80% is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute the EMEA commercial strategy to meet revenue, margin, and market-share objectives.
- Lead regional commercial planning, including forecasting, territory optimization, segmentation, and resource allocation.
- Drive adoption of data-driven decision-making, analytics tools, and digital enablement across the commercial organization.
Sales Leadership
- Lead and develop the EMEA sales organization to achieve and exceed commercial targets.
- Implement best-in-class sales management practices including pipeline development, territory management, and account planning.
- Partner with global commercial, key account management, and divisional leaders to ensure alignment with enterprise priorities.
- Strengthen channel and distributor performance across the region.
- Collaborate with and leverage the commercial effectiveness resources

Regional Marketing & Brand Development
- Oversee EMEA marketing strategy, including demand generation, regional campaigns, events, and localization of global marketing initiatives.
- Ensure clear alignment between marketing execution and sales priorities.
- Strengthen Bio-Techne’s brand awareness and customer engagement across established and emerging EMEA markets.
Customer Engagement
- Serve as the executive sponsor for high-value and strategic customer relationships across the region.
- Champion customer-centricity, ensuring an excellent experience across all sales and marketing touchpoints.
- Regularly engage customers, distributors, and partners through extensive field presence (~80% travel).
Leadership & Talent Development
- Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing EMEA commercial team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop future commercial leaders and strengthen succession planning within the region.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; advanced degree (MBA or science field) preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive commercial experience, with 5+ years in a senior commercial leadership role.
- Experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams within complex global markets.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated success developing and executing commercial growth strategies in EMEA markets.
- Strong sales leadership with the ability to coach, develop, and scale high-performing teams.
- Proven experience overseeing regional marketing and integrating marketing with sales execution.
- Excellent communication skills and executive presence.
- Data-driven mindset with strong operational discipline.
- Ability to thrive in a field-heavy, customer-centric role with extensive travel.
- Strong collaborator who works effectively across global and cross-functional teams.
