Key Responsibilities
As Vice President Credit Manager Securitisation at MUFG in London, you will be entrusted with responsibilities that span credit analysis, portfolio monitoring, policy development, and strategic advisory. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating closely with relationship managers across the business lines as well as providing succinct advice to senior leaders in both London and Tokyo. You will conduct thorough analyses of structured finance transactions—particularly asset-backed finance including securitisation—drafting detailed credit papers that inform key decisions. Monitoring existing portfolios will be central to your role; you’ll make recommendations that help shape the bank’s risk appetite while ensuring compliance with internal policies. You’ll also participate in ad-hoc projects aimed at refining risk criteria or improving portfolio quality. Sharing market intelligence with your team will keep everyone informed about sector developments. Supporting junior colleagues through knowledge sharing is encouraged so that together you build a dependable network of expertise. Preparing reports for international stakeholders will showcase your attention to detail. Throughout all tasks, you’ll maintain regulatory compliance while balancing the interests of multiple entities within MUFG.

- Provide expert guidance and direction as the credit counterpart to relationship managers and product offices within the first line of defence, ensuring strategic engagement on deal-specific developments.
- Deliver timely advice or briefings in both verbal and written form to senior management in London and Tokyo, including the Chief Credit Officer for EMEA and other key executives.
- Conduct comprehensive credit analysis of allocated sectors and products, drafting detailed credit papers, applying rating methodologies, and preparing comparative statistics under senior management guidance.
- Monitor and review existing portfolio transactions, making informed recommendations regarding credit decisions and ratings based on internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Work on ad-hoc projects assigned by Group Heads or senior management to set up or adjust risk criteria and policies, aiming to improve portfolio quality.
- Track market trends, developments in allocated sectors/products, EMEA countries, players, and financial/legal structures; share insights with the team to ensure informed decision-making.
- Support junior colleagues by sharing technical knowledge of allocated sectors/products and contributing to their professional development within the team.
- Prepare reports for Tokyo Head Office and European Headquarters as required, including creating materials for credit committees.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory procedures and internal policy requirements relevant to credit risk management.
- Identify potential conflicts between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc needs; escalate issues appropriately while maintaining entity neutrality.
Required Qualifications
Your proven experience as Vice President Credit Manager Securitisation will demonstrate deep familiarity with structured finance transactions—especially asset-backed finance—and corporate banking environments. You bring advanced analytical abilities that allow you to assess complex credit risks efficiently while maintaining accuracy under pressure. Your interpersonal skills foster trust among colleagues at all levels; whether supporting junior team members or briefing senior executives internationally. You possess strong communication abilities that help translate technical findings into actionable recommendations. Your educational background includes at least a Bachelor’s degree (with preference given to those holding a Master’s), underpinning your technical expertise. Experience handling regulatory audits showcases your commitment to compliance—a trait highly valued at MUFG. Your proficiency in Microsoft Office tools supports your reporting duties while strong numerical skills ensure precision in data analysis.
