Position Summary
Why join our team?
The Vice President - Head of Design, Europe is the senior-most design leader in the region. They are accountable for defining, leading, and accomplishing Samsung's build vision, strategy, and impact across Europe. This role provides regional leadership across all European design activities, ensures strong alignment with global design leadership in Korea, and positions Europe as a strategic contributor to Samsung's global innovation and portfolio agenda.
Role and Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities
1. Regional Design Vision and Strategy
- Define and own the European build outlook and approach in alignment with Samsung's global compose direction.
- Provide executive leadership throughout the entire spectrum of European fields where innovative solutions are composed, including Product Build, UX, UI, and CMF.
- Ensure design excellence, consistency, and differentiation across all European initiatives.
- Represent Europe in global design governance, reviews, and executive leadership forums.
2. Organizational and Capability Leadership
- Lead and evolve the build organization across Europe, improving existing talent and progressively adding new capabilities.
- Build a high-performance, collaborative, and inclusive design culture aligned with Samsung leadership principles.
- Drive talent development, succession planning, performance management, and long-term organizational effectiveness.
- Strengthen collaboration with global design teams in Korea and other regions.
3. Business, Customer, and Partner Engagement
- Act as a strategic design partner to European business leadership.
- Support the CDO, GBM, and European business leaders in engaging customers and partners, particularly in retail and experiential contexts.
- Ensure customer insights are systematically translated into impactful design strategies and execution.
- Elevate the role of building as a key catalyst for business performance in Europe.

4. Global Innovation and Portfolio Strategy
- Work directly with the Global CDO, Innovation Leadership, and senior design executives to shape the future Samsung Design portfolio.
- Apply the three lenses of design thinking to influence long-term innovation strategy, experiences, and differentiation.
Your key people management responsibilities
- Provide clarity on strategy, team purpose & value and define the key areas of focus and direction.
- Support the development of your team through regular mentoring, coaching and feedback, 1:1s and on the job learning opportunities.
- Role model inclusion for your team to build trust and psychological safety.
- Ensure communication with your team is a core focus area including cascade of information from LT’s and relevant business updates.
- Handle the on boarding, off boarding process and the entirety of the colleague lifecycle process for all team members.
- Manage all annual people management cycles such as goal setting, evaluation and salary reviews to a high quality and in a timely manner.
- To be accountable for ensuring your team are compliant with company processes and procedures; such as compliance, meeting mandatory business cyclical deadlines, and understanding the company values.
What we need for this role
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- 20+ years of leadership experience in design, innovation, or related fields.
- Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary design organizations at an executive level.
- Strong expertise across Product Design, UX/UI, and CMF.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and external partners.
