Role Overview

Our client is a trusted market leader within the travel services sector.

Reporting into the Chief Legal Officer. They are seeking a talented and commercially minded VP Legal to join their high performing team. This role plays an integral role in overseeing legal governance and risk management, while actively supporting the business through a period of growth and transformation. This includes ensuring legal frameworks, governance, and commercial contracts continue to develop the business’ expanding global footprint and strategic ambitions.

Role Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner and deputy to the Chief Legal Officer, helping to implement the vision, structure, and goals of the global Legal Team.
  • Support the transformation of the business by ensuring legal frameworks, governance, and risk management align with evolving global operations.
  • Advise on commercial transactions and group-wide initiatives.
  • Provide legal support on intellectual property, compliance, litigation, data protection, and other risk-related matters.
  • Role-modelling strategic partnership with all areas of the business and creating a best-in-class function.
  • Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to influence both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic direction.

Who You Are

  • A qualified solicitor with a minimum of 8+ years of experience in both private practice and in-house roles.
  • Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements. Ideally, you will have exposure to financial services, financial payments and travel focused organisations.
  • Strong commercial and strategic mindset, with the ability to partner effectively with business leaders to enable growth and transformation.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including direct management of legal professionals and support of executive-level decision-making.
  • Demonstrates resilience and adaptability, with the ability to lead effectively through periods of change and business transformation.
  • Excellent independent drafting skills with strong experience of commercial contracts and negotiation.
  • Experience gained within the services or travel logistics industry or similar environment.
  • Strategic thinking with a keen eye for future trends.
