Vice President, Legal Counsel - Real Assets & Private Credit - London

A leading global alternative investment manager is seeking a finance lawyer to join its European legal team in a broad, commercially focused role supporting Real Estate Debt, Alternative Credit and Infrastructure Debt strategies.

Working closely with investment professionals and senior stakeholders, you'll advise on complex debt investments, financing structures and legal risk matters across multiple asset classes and jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on debt investments and financing transactions across real estate, private credit and infrastructure.
  • Provide guidance on structuring, legal risk, regulatory matters and documentation.
  • Support investment committees on complex or novel transactions.
  • Oversee external counsel and legal secondees on transaction execution.
  • Advise on back leverage, loan-on-loan financings, restructurings and special situations.
  • Partner with Compliance, Tax, Finance and other internal stakeholders on strategic initiatives.

Candidate Profile

  • 6-10 years' PQE from a leading law firm and/or relevant in-house environment.
  • Strong experience in real estate finance, infrastructure finance, structured finance, asset-based finance and/or private credit.
  • Experience advising on debt investments across the capital stack.
  • Exposure to cross-border transactions and multi-jurisdictional matters.
  • Commercially minded with strong judgement and the ability to provide practical, business-focused advice.
