VP Marketing | Consumer Technology & Hardware

JD&Co London Area, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

About the Company

We’re partnered with a fast-growing international consumer technology business on the search for a senior marketing leader to help build the marketing engine behind its next phase of global growth.

The business sits at the intersection of hardware, technology, and consumer services, with ambitious plans to launch new products, enter new markets, and build a highly scalable global platform.

About the Role

This is a high-impact opportunity for a commercially-minded VP Marketing or senior growth leader who combines deep performance marketing expertise with experience of taking physical consumer technology products to market. This is not primarily a traditional brand-building role.

The focus is on building a world-class customer acquisition and advertising capability: creating brilliant campaigns, getting them in front of the right audiences, understanding exactly what is working, and continually improving the machine behind growth.

You’ll work closely with the leadership and product teams, taking strong products and propositions and turning them into compelling, measurable customer growth.

The Opportunity

The core mission is to build a sophisticated, scalable marketing capability that can support rapid international expansion.

You’ll lead across:

  • Performance marketing and customer acquisition
  • Digital media strategy and media buying
  • Creative advertising and campaign development
  • Attribution, measurement, and marketing effectiveness
  • Building scalable marketing systems, processes, and capabilities
  • Developing and optimizing the customer funnel from first interaction through to purchase
  • Working closely with product teams around launches, propositions, and go-to-market
  • Partnerships, influencers, and high-impact collaborations
  • Out-of-home and wider integrated marketing channels
  • Building an internal marketing capability that can operate with the speed and quality of a high-performing agency
  • Creating a global marketing playbook that can be adapted market by market

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is an opportunity to build rather than inherit a finished function. You’ll have the autonomy to challenge existing thinking, go back to first principles where necessary, and create something significantly better.

About You

We’re looking for an exceptional consumer marketing leader with a strong bias towards growth, performance, and digital.

You may currently be a VP Marketing, Marketing Director, or senior performance/growth leader ready to step into broader ownership.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Significant experience marketing consumer hardware or physical technology products
  • A strong track record in performance marketing and digital customer acquisition
  • Experience operating at meaningful scale across Google, YouTube, Meta, and other major digital platforms
  • Deep understanding of attribution, measurement, and marketing effectiveness
  • Experience building or significantly improving a marketing engine from first principles
  • Strong understanding of media strategy and media buying
  • Experience taking new consumer products to market
  • An understanding of the full customer journey, from advertising and acquisition through to purchase, onboarding, and retention
  • Experience working across multiple international markets
  • The ability to combine strategic thinking with a willingness to get into the detail
  • Experience building high-performing teams and/or internal agency-style capabilities
  • The commercial mindset to focus relentlessly on what drives customer and business growth

Experience within consumer electronics, connected devices, mobile, telecoms, audio, wearables, or another hardware-enabled consumer technology category would be particularly relevant.

We’re equally interested in people who have built their careers inside high-growth technology businesses and those who have combined strong agency, platform, or digital experience with senior in-house leadership.

You’ll also need to be naturally curious. We’re looking for someone who is genuinely interested in products, technology, culture, and how consumer behavior is changing, someone who enjoys experimenting, challenging conventional thinking, and finding unfair advantages.

This is a targeted search for a specific profile. Please apply only if you have relevant senior marketing experience within consumer technology, hardware, or a closely related category.
