Vice President, Middle Office Manager
Vice President, Middle Office Manager – Global Loan Operations
Location: London, UK
About the Role
We’re looking for a future team member to join our Global Loan Operations team as Vice President, Middle Office Manager. This critical role will drive operational excellence, strategically manage loan transactions, and partner across departments to optimise both efficiency and risk management.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll make a significant impact by:

Trading lifecycle management:
- Raising and managing new trademark orders in BNY’s proprietary platforms, tracking all trades from execution to settlement
- Overseeing LMA/LSTA par and distressed loan closing processes as escalation lead to ensure on-time, accurate closings

Strategic loan transactions:
- Supporting complex loan refinancings alongside clients
- Analysing documentation for distressed assets (Credit Agreements, Shareholder/Co-Op Agreements) to guide settlement/booking decisions

Vendor & risk management:
- Collaborating with third-party settlement vendors, troubleshooting breaks/exceptions to ensure seamless and timely settlement
- Monitoring intraday liquidity, optimising allocations across multiple funds while balancing urgency, efficiency, and risk

Corporate actions & process improvement:
- Researching and processing corporate actions and restructurings, driving outcomes aligned with fund objectives
- Tracking and resolving position breaks, escalating to the desk and technical teams as required
- Continuously refining the operating model, identifying automation/process-enhancement opportunities in partnership with BNY Technology, Treasury, and Fund Finance teams (Run Our Company Better)

Stakeholder liaison:
- Liaising with custodians, administrators, and internal teams on trade, position, and pricing queries
- Delivering monthly/quarterly reporting to senior management, compliance, and external partners

- Collaborating with the Global Bank Loans Middle Office team to spread best practices and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement (Thrive Together)
Requirements
To thrive in this leadership role, we’re looking for:

Experience (4-7 years minimum):
- Hands-on trade-operations or settlement experience across syndicated bank loans
- Deep expertise in bank-debt closing processes and credit documentation conventions
- Proficiency in advanced MS Excel, including a track record of building models/tooling for operational efficiency (Spark Progress)

Soft skills and approach:
- Analytical, problem-solving ability, with the commitment to own every process end-to-end
- Strong communication skills, adept at distilling complexity and collaborating across silos
- Self-motivated, thrive under pressure, and maintain competing priorities with focus (Stay Curious)
