Job Title: VP Mutual Funds

Location: Manchester, England, United Kingdom (Hybrid – 4 days onsite)
Type: Full-time
Compensation: Competitive salary (dependent on experience)


We are partnering with BNY Pershing to hire an experienced operational leader for a high-impact opportunity within their Pershing EMEA platform. This role sits within a critical operational function supporting mutual fund and investment operations activities across a sophisticated wealth services and custody environment.

The position offers the opportunity to lead operational teams, strengthen governance and controls, enhance client service delivery, and drive operational transformation initiatives within a globally recognised financial institution.

The Opportunity

As Vice President – Mutual Funds, you’ll lead operational teams responsible for a broad range of fund-related activities including:

  • Fund Manager Account Openings
  • Fund Manager AML Due Diligence
  • Share Class Conversions
  • Fund Trading activities (STP & manual)
  • Fund Settlements

This role combines hands-on operational leadership with strategic oversight and offers significant exposure across operational governance, client servicing, controls, transformation, and process optimisation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing high-performing operational teams
  • Managing operational risk, escalations, and control frameworks
  • Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of operational activities
  • Enhancing client service delivery across internal and external stakeholders
  • Producing MI reporting and monitoring KRIs/KPIs
  • Supporting testing coordination and software release activity
  • Driving continuous improvement, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Supporting onboarding projects, operational change, and strategic transformation activity
  • Ensuring adherence to regulatory, Records Management, and Business Continuity policies

Key Requirements

  • Significant experience leading operational teams within Financial Services
  • Strong background within Mutual Funds, Investment Operations, Custody, Wealth Services, or Asset Servicing
  • Experience managing operational controls, governance frameworks, and client servicing functions
  • Strong analytical and systems skills with advanced Microsoft Excel capability
  • Experience producing MI reporting and monitoring KRIs/KPIs
  • Ability to operate effectively within fast-paced, high-volume operational environments
  • Interest or experience in automation, robotics, AI-enabled tooling, or process transformation initiatives
  • Funds experience highly advantageous
