VP of Global Business Development

We’re working with a high-growth global technology business looking to appoint a VP of Global Business Development to lead and scale its commercial and strategic partnerships function worldwide. This is a significant executive leadership role with ownership of a substantial global revenue target, an established international team and an ambitious growth agenda. The mandate goes well beyond traditional sales leadership. You’ll be responsible for identifying new revenue opportunities, scaling strategic partnerships, improving commercial performance across international markets and building the operating model required to support the company’s next phase of growth.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Own the global business development and partnerships strategy across multiple international markets
  • Lead and develop a sizeable organisation through regional and functional leadership teams
  • Take accountability for significant revenue growth and commercial performance
  • Identify new revenue opportunities within existing products, services and capabilities
  • Diagnose underperforming markets and develop plans to accelerate growth
  • Personally lead complex, high-value strategic partnership negotiations
  • Develop commercial propositions, pricing strategies and go-to-market approaches
  • Improve pipeline performance, conversion and customer onboarding
  • Build scalable commercial processes, reporting, forecasting and automation
  • Review and redesign global sales incentive structures
  • Build investment cases for new commercial initiatives
  • Work closely with Product, Finance, Legal and other senior stakeholders to deliver complex programmes
  • Assess international expansion opportunities and make clear investment recommendations to executive leadership

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Commercial experience across business development, partnerships or commercial leadership
  • Significant experience operating at Director/VP level or above
  • Proven ownership of substantial revenue targets across multiple international markets
  • Experience leading a large, geographically distributed commercial organisation across several continents
  • A track record of building, developing and improving high-performing teams
  • Evidence of delivering significant commercial growth within a fast-scaling technology business
  • Experience identifying and monetising previously untapped revenue opportunities
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to turn complex commercial data into actionable growth plans
  • Personally experienced in negotiating major strategic partnerships and commercial agreements
  • Experience working across Product, Legal, Finance and other senior business functions
  • Excellent executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills
