AVP Sales, North & Central Europe

📍 UK | Enterprise Software | Confidential Search

Some sales leadership roles are about inheriting a region and running the existing playbook.

This one is about building the next version of it.

We’re partnering with a global enterprise software leader to hire the executive who will own its next phase of growth across North & Central Europe.

This is an established PE backed global business with thousands of enterprise customers and a platform that sits at the centre of how some of the world’s largest organisations manage, connect and automate their data and information.

The foundations are already there: scale, customers, technology and significant investment.

Now, with AI creating a new wave of opportunity across the category, the business is investing heavily in growth.

And this region has significant headroom.

Why this role exists now

Today, the region covers two of Europe's largest enterprise software markets: the UK and Germany.

The opportunity isn't simply to take responsibility for an established sales organisation. It's to shape what North & Central Europe becomes.

This is a true second-line leadership position. You’ll lead through experienced sales managers, giving them the direction, coaching and accountability to build high-performing teams beneath them.

At the same time, you'll strengthen the existing UK and German businesses, accelerate new-logo and customer growth, and build the GTM strategy for the whole region.

This is a genuine build-and-lead opportunity inside a global business with the resources to execute.

The opportunity & impact

As AVP Sales, North & Central Europe, you will:

  • Own the regional number across the UK, Germany and future wider territory.
  • Lead and develop sales managers who in turn lead teams of enterprise sellers.
  • Build a strong second-line leadership culture with clear accountability and high standards.
  • Shape the regional GTM strategy and determine where the next phase of growth comes from.
  • Drive both new-logo acquisition and expansion across a significant installed customer base.
  • Bring discipline to pipeline, forecasting, account strategy and execution through your leadership team.
  • Operate alongside global sales leadership and influence wider commercial strategy.
  • Build the organisational structure and leadership capability required as the region grows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Success isn't about personally being involved in every deal.

It's about building the leaders, teams and operating rhythm that allow an entire region to perform.

What you need to bring

This is important: we're looking for an established second-line enterprise software sales leader who when needed is willing to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in.

You should bring:

  • A strong track record in enterprise software sales leadership.
  • Proven experience managing sales managers, not only individual contributors.
  • Evidence of developing first-line leaders and improving the performance of the teams beneath them.
  • Experience owning a significant regional number with accountability for forecast, pipeline and performance.
  • Experience operating across multiple European markets, UK and Germany/DACH is essential.
  • Evidence that you've built or materially transformed a territory, rather than simply maintained one.
  • A track record of leading organisations that win complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals.
  • Credibility with C-suite customers and senior global leadership.
  • Strong commercial command of forecasting, hiring, performance management, organisational design and territory planning.

If your leadership experience to date has primarily been managing Account Executives directly, this probably isn't the right step yet.

We need someone who already understands how to lead through leaders.

The kind of leader who thrives here

You know that second-line leadership requires a different skill set.

You don't jump into every deal or solve every problem yourself. You set the direction, build strong managers, ask the difficult questions and create an environment where teams perform consistently without depending on you.

You're commercially demanding, but you genuinely enjoy developing leaders.

You can move between regional strategy, organisational design, a manager coaching conversation and an executive forecast review without losing sight of the bigger picture.

And you're probably at the stage of your career where another bigger title isn't enough.

You want scope, ownership and the chance to build something that has your fingerprints on it.

Ways of working

This is a senior regional leadership role, so travel across the UK, DACH and wider European region should be expected.

The environment combines the scale and resources of an established global software company with a regional opportunity that still has plenty left to build.
