Vice President – Public Investment Banking (PIB) Team
Cygnum Capital is seeking a senior investment banking professional at Vice President level to join its Public Sector Investment Banking (PIB) team, leading advisory coverage of sovereign, supranational and broader public sector clients across a broad range of financial advisory products, with a focus on emerging markets in Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of financial advisory solutions for sovereign, supranational, and public sector advisory clients, spanning debt management, capital markets, credit structuring, project and infrastructure finance.
- Take a leading role in identifying, originating and winning investment banking and capital markets mandates, including through public procurement processes.
- Own and expand relationships with senior sovereign and public sector decision-makers, and act as a trusted point of contact for key clients and market participants.
- Drive the development of pitch materials and client presentations, ensuring a compelling and well-positioned narrative for public sector clients.
- Oversee project execution, including structuring, analysis, documentation and coordination of internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Take an active role in training, mentoring and developing junior colleagues, and help foster collaboration across business lines.
- Contribute to the strategic development of public sector client coverage, identifying new opportunities and helping shape the team's advisory offering.

Profile
- 7+ years of experience in public sector or sovereign financing advisory, debt management advisory, debt capital markets, innovative transaction structuring or broader investment banking advisory roles.
- Demonstrated ability to cover public sector clients across a range of financial advisory products (e.g. bonds, loans, guarantees, liability management, blended or structured solutions, project/infrastructure finance).
- Strong track record of engaging with and advising senior government and public sector stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in emerging markets, ideally including Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and/or Central Asia.
- Strong analytical and structuring skills, combined with proven origination and business development capabilities.
- Experience with innovative financing instruments (e.g. debt-for-development swaps, results-based or blended structures) is a plus.
- Familiarity with credit rating methodologies, particularly for sovereigns and supranational agencies, is a plus.
- Experience mentoring or managing junior team members is a plus.
