Vice President, Investment Banking: Healthcare & Energy

Location: London, UK
Employment type: Full-time

About the Role:

Our clients in investment banks, are seeking a Vice President to join its Healthcare and Energy coverage teams. The VP will lead the execution of M&A, capital markets, and advisory mandates from pitch to close. The role involves managing deal teams, working directly with senior bankers and clients, and helping grow the franchise in both sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day execution of M&A (buy-side, sell-side, and carve-outs), equity and debt capital raises, and restructuring or strategic advisory engagements
  • Manage and mentor Analysts and Associates, reviewing financial models, valuation analyses, and client materials for accuracy and quality
  • Develop and maintain client relationships with C-suite executives, sponsors, and corporate development teams
  • Support Managing Directors in origination: building pitch books, identifying opportunities, and preparing for client meetings
  • Oversee due diligence, negotiation support, and coordination with legal counsel, accountants, and other advisors
  • Conduct sector research and market analysis across Healthcare (e.g., providers, services, medtech, pharma/biotech, healthcare IT) and Energy (e.g., upstream, midstream, power & utilities, renewables, energy transition)
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, risk, and internal policies throughout transactions

Required Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of investment banking experience, with at least 2 years at the Associate or VP level
  • Demonstrated track record executing transactions in both Healthcare and Energy, or deep experience in one with clear exposure to the other
  • Advanced financial modeling skills (DCF, LBO, merger models, comps, precedent transactions)
  • Proven ability to lead live deals and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Strong client-facing presence and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CFA a plus
  • Active securities licenses (e.g., Series 7, 63, 79) or ability to obtain them promptly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience at a top-tier or well-regarded middle-market bank
  • Existing relationships with sponsors, corporates, or sector advisors
  • Exposure to cross-sector themes (e.g., healthcare infrastructure, energy services, ESG and sustainability-linked financing)
  • Experience originating mandates or contributing to pitch wins
