Vice President | Restructuring & Special Situations | Leading Global Investment Bank | London
We are working with one of the most active restructuring franchises in the market on a VP hire in London.
This is a genuinely rare opportunity to join a top-tier advisory practice at a moment of real momentum. The team has been at the centre of some of the most complex and high-profile European restructuring and liability management situations of the past cycle, advising companies, creditors and sponsors across the capital structure. With distress activity elevated and a deep pipeline of live mandates, they are hiring to add senior execution firepower.
Why this seat is different
Restructuring is where the most intellectually demanding work in banking happens, and this platform sits right at the fulcrum of it. You will work across the full toolkit: balance sheet restructurings, liability management exercises, amendment and extension processes, distressed M&A, creditor advisory and new-money raises. Deals are complex, fast-moving and high-stakes, and the team is small enough that VPs carry real responsibility rather than sitting behind layers of hierarchy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
