Our Investment Banking Division
Our Investment Banking Division combines deep sector expertise with global capital markets access, supported by research, sales and distribution capabilities across Europe, North America and Asia. The platform includes more than 55 investment banking professionals and dedicated sector teams covering Energy Services, Shipping, Technologies, Natural Resources and Industrials.
Fearnley's Natural Resources franchise advises companies and investors across oil & gas, metals, mining, steel, critical minerals and broader resource sectors. We work with corporates, financial sponsors and institutional investors on strategic M&A, debt financing and equity capital raising transactions globally.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated Associate or Vice President to join our London-based Natural Resources Investment Banking team.
The successful candidate will become a core member of a fast-growing franchise and play an active role in originating and executing transactions across the global metals and mining sector. The position offers significant client exposure, responsibility from day one and the opportunity to work closely with senior bankers across both advisory and capital markets mandates.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Execution
- Lead day-to-day execution of M&A, strategic advisory, debt financing and equity capital markets transactions.
- Build and review complex financial models, valuation analyses and transaction materials.
- Prepare marketing documents, information memoranda, management presentations and board materials.
- Manage due diligence processes and coordinate advisors, clients and counterparties.
- Take ownership of project management workstreams and transaction timetables.

Client Coverage and Business Development
- Support senior bankers in maintaining and expanding client relationships.
- Participate in origination efforts and preparation of pitch materials.
- Develop industry perspectives and identify emerging transaction opportunities.
- Attend management meetings, site visits, conferences and industry events.
Team Leadership
- Mentor and oversee analysts and junior associates.
- Drive quality control across analyses, models and client deliverables.
- Contribute to building Fearnley's Natural Resources franchise and culture.
Candidate Profile
Required Experience
-
4–8 years of relevant experience within:
- Investment Banking
- Corporate Finance
- M&A Advisory
- Equity Research
- Transaction Services
- Private Equity
- Natural Resources Advisory

Demonstrated experience working on live M&A and/or capital markets transactions.

Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills.

Excellent PowerPoint and presentation skills.

Undergraduate or Master's degree with strong academic credentials.

Prior exposure to metals, mining, steel, critical minerals or broader natural resources sectors.

Experience working with listed companies and public capital markets.

Knowledge of debt and equity financing products.
