About the role
Trimby Productions Limited is a founder-led video and content business in its early stages of growth. Until now the Founder has run every part of it alone. This is the first hire into the business and you will take ownership of editing and post-production, support filming, and help keep the business running smoothly day to day. Because the business is still building its ways of working, you will have real scope to shape the editorial and post-production processes and put your own stamp on them.
Key responsibilities
Editing and post-production (main focus)
- Take full ownership of editing video content and adverts from first cut to final delivery
- Review and select footage, and build edit timelines
- Colour grade footage to a consistent, professional standard
- Edit, clean and mix sound, including music and voiceover
- Create different aspect ratios and versions for each platform and channel
- Manage client and internal revisions through to sign-off
- Export final files to the correct specifications and upload deliverables
Filming support
- Help plan and arrange shoots, including logistics, schedules and equipment
- Support the Founder on set during filming as required
Project and file management
- Organise project files and folders using a consistent naming and storage system
- Archive footage and completed projects so they are easy to find and reuse
- Help design and improve post-production workflows

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
