JOB TITLE: Video Content Executive
DEPARTMENT: Digital
LOCATION: Based at Stamford Bridge, travel to Cobham and matches when required
CONTRACT: Permanent, Full Time
JOB FUNCTION:
Manage Chelsea FC’s video channels across the Club’s new app, website and YouTube, ensuring fans have access to the best Chelsea video content at the right time.
The role will take ownership of the day-to-day programming, publishing and optimisation of video across Chelsea’s owned digital platforms, working closely with the Video Production and Social Media teams to maximise the content they create.
The Video Content Executive will also create and edit simple video content using tools including WSC Sports and Adobe Premiere Pro, with a particular focus on speed and relevance around matchdays.
The role will manage both Chelsea Men’s and Women’s YouTube channels, helping grow audiences, views and engagement across both.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Video channel management web and app (50%)
- Take day-to-day ownership of the video section of Chelsea FC’s app and website, ensuring it is fresh, engaging and regularly updated.
- Plan, curate and publish video content produced by the Club’s Video Production, Social Media and wider content teams.
- Programme the video experience across the app and website, ensuring the strongest and most relevant content is surfaced to fans.
- Work closely with editorial, video and social teams to understand the content pipeline and identify opportunities to maximise existing video.
- Create and edit simple video content using WSC Sports, Adobe Premiere Pro and other editing tools when required.
- Use Photoshop to create powerful, engaging thumbnails that help maximise video views and engagement.
- Re-version and optimise existing video for different platforms, audiences and formats.
- Write engaging titles, descriptions and supporting copy that encourage fans to watch.
- Ensure video content is correctly uploaded, tagged, categorised and presented across Chelsea’s digital platforms.
- Be part of the CFC+ team, helping create, curate and manage premium video content for Chelsea FC’s paid content subscription service.
- Help develop the CFC+ video proposition, ensuring subscribers receive a regular pipeline of high-quality, distinctive and valuable content.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality control and brand consistency.
- Use audience and performance data to understand what fans are watching and continually improve programming and content decisions.
- Regularly review other leading football, sport, entertainment and media platforms to identify new approaches to video programming and presentation.

Matchday and reactive video (25%)
- Play a key role in Chelsea Men’s and Women’s matchday digital coverage, ensuring relevant video content is published quickly to the app and website.
- Work closely with the Video Production and Social Media teams before, during and after matches to identify the best video moments and maximise their distribution.
- Use WSC Sports and other available tools to quickly create and publish match clips, highlights and other relevant content.
- React quickly to events around the Club, ensuring Chelsea’s owned platforms are a destination for timely and compelling video.
- Balance speed with accuracy, rights restrictions and editorial standards.
- Support major Club events, announcements and campaigns with timely video publishing.
YouTube management and audience growth (25%)
- Manage the day-to-day operation of Chelsea FC’s Men’s and Women’s YouTube channels.
- Plan and maintain an effective publishing schedule across both channels, working closely with Video Production, Social Media and other content teams.
- Upload, package and optimise videos, including titles, thumbnails, descriptions, playlists, end screens and other YouTube features.
- Develop programming strategies that maximise the value and reach of Chelsea’s existing video content.
- Identify opportunities to create YouTube-specific content and formats using existing footage and simple edits.
- Use YouTube analytics and wider audience data to understand performance and inform future content decisions.
- Grow views, watch time, subscribers and engagement across both Men’s and Women’s channels.
- Stay up to date with YouTube trends, product developments, audience behaviours and best practice.
- Work to agreed KPIs and targets with the wider Digital, Marketing and Commercial functions, ensuring video supports the Club’s wider objectives.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:
- Proven experience working in digital video, content, publishing or channel management, ideally within sport, entertainment, media or a similarly fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of digital video and how audiences consume video across websites, apps and YouTube.
- Experience managing or publishing content to YouTube and a good understanding of YouTube Studio, analytics and optimisation.
- Good hands-on video editing skills, ideally using Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Good working knowledge of Photoshop, particularly creating compelling video thumbnails and other simple digital assets.
- Experience using WSC Sports, or similar automated video clipping and production tools, would be advantageous.
- Strong editorial judgement and an ability to identify which video content will resonate with fans.
- Comfortable working quickly and making editorial decisions in a live matchday environment.
- Good understanding of video metadata, titles, thumbnails, descriptions and other factors that influence video discovery and performance.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to use performance data to improve programming and publishing decisions.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple pieces of content and competing deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and an ability to work effectively with video producers, editors, social media teams and other stakeholders.
- Passion for football and a strong understanding of Chelsea FC, the Premier League and the wider football landscape.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends when required for Chelsea Men’s and Women’s matches.
- Proactive, collaborative and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
