Job Description
Your Role: Video Content Producer, The News Agents
As a Video Content Producer for The News Agents, you’ll help shape how one of the UK’s leading news podcast brands shows up visually across YouTube and social.
This is a hybrid role spanning video production, editing, editorial planning and reactive content creation in a fast-moving news environment. You’ll bring strong visual storytelling instincts, creative thinking and a sharp understanding of how audiences engage with news, politics and current affairs content across digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Editing & Creating (70%)
- Create and edit high-quality long-form and short-form video content for YouTube and social platforms.
- Support the editorial planning and day-to-day production workflow of a fast-moving news show.
- Translate breaking stories, interviews and conversations into compelling visual content that works across platforms.
- React quickly to breaking news and turn around content at pace without compromising quality.
- Work closely with editorial and production teams to ensure content is visually engaging, accurate and on-brand.
- Help evolve The News Agents' visual output so it can compete with the best podcast content on YouTube and social.

Thumbnails (20%)
- Produce thumbnails, social graphics and supporting visual assets using tools such as Photoshop.
Shooting (10%)
- Shoot and edit platform-native content that reflects current trends and audience behaviours.

- Shown confidence in reacting quickly to breaking stories and producing compelling content at pace.
- Contributed ideas that strengthen the show's visual storytelling and platform performance.

What You’ll Need
- Experience in podcast and digital video production.
- Strong shooting and editing skills for YouTube and social content.
- Experience supporting editorial planning and production workflows.
- Ability to turn around long-form and short-form content quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of platform trends, audience behaviour and visual storytelling.
- Experience creating thumbnails and social assets using tools such as Photoshop.
- Interest in news, politics, current affairs and the wider cultural conversation.
- Experience working in daily, reactive or fast-moving content environments is highly desirable.
