Role: Video Editor (Podcast Content)
Location: Central London (minimum 2 days per week)
Reports to: Head of Production
Hours: Full Time | 37.5 hours per week

High Performance was set up in 2021 after the huge success of the High Performance Podcast (hosted by Jake Humphrey and Damian Hughes). The brand creates inspirational and trusted content that drives personal growth and positive change.
Following significant growth, we now produce a total of 6 podcasts. Through podcasts, live events, publications, and corporate work, our vision is to reach as many people as possible around the world and enable them to achieve healthier and happier lives.

Overview
As a Video Editor, you will play a key role in crafting high-quality, high-performance content across our core video formats - across The High Performance Podcast slate. This includes editing podcast episodes, segments, trailers, and social-first cuts designed to engage and grow audiences.
You’ll take ownership of your edits from brief through to delivery, combining strong storytelling instincts with technical precision. Working closely with producers, social teams, and strategists, you’ll help shape compelling narratives that resonate with audiences. This is a hands-on, collaborative role where creative input is encouraged, feedback is continuous, and growth is expected.
Key Responsibilities
Editing Execution & Ownership
- Edit Podcast content, including:
- YouTube first content/ full podcast visuals
- Short-form content, trailers, social clips
- Take full ownership of quality, creativity, and delivery across all assigned projects
- Shape compelling narratives from longform conversations into engaging, high-retention edits
- Ensure all edits meet brand, creative, and technical standards (sync, colour, audio, export)

Creative Collaboration
- Collaborate with producers, social teams, and strategists to bring ideas to life
- Actively contribute to brainstorms and creative discussions
- Immerse yourself in the creative process and identify opportunities for innovation
- Implement feedback quickly and consistently to improve output
Storytelling & Performance
- Craft trailers/segments/sizzles with strong pacing, emotional build, and clear narrative arcs
- Apply understanding of audience behaviour, especially across YouTube and social platforms
- Use performance data (retention, engagement, drop-off points) to refine edits
Technical Workflow & Organisation
- Solid understanding of editing fundamentals: pacing, storytelling, sound, and colour
- Maintain clean, structured project files and timelines
- Apply consistent naming conventions and logical file organisation
- Manage version control meticulously for all edits
- Deliver multiple cutdowns and versions formatted for different platforms
- Follow templates, workflows, and technical specifications
- Ensure robust backup practices across local and cloud systems
Workflow Optimisation & Tools
- Work efficiently within Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and supporting tools
- Use Automation/AI-assisted tools (e.g. Opus, Artlist, Firefly, Descript) where appropriate
- Suggest workflow improvements to increase speed and quality
- Stay updated on emerging editing techniques, tools, and social formats

Time & Project Management
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Proactively track deadlines and flag potential blockers early
- Deliver work on time without compromising creative quality
Skills & Expertise
Required
- 3+ years of experience in video editing (in-house, agency, or freelance)
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro essential, After Effects preferred)
- Solid understanding of editing fundamentals: pacing, storytelling, sound, and colour
- Experience creating trailers, social content, or podcast-related edits
- Strong organisational and workflow management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
- Excellent communication and feedback implementation skills
Desirable
- Experience working with branded content or media platforms
- Familiarity with performance-driven content (YouTube, Instagram, etc.)
- Ability to undertake animation and motion graphics
- Experience using Automation/AI tools in editing workflows
