About Oxford Talks
Oxford Talks is a media company operating at the intersection of ideas, leadership, and culture. We produce high-profile 10-12min videos, executive leadership programmes, and a rapidly growing global community of Oxford Talks Circle events.
We are founder-led and fast-moving. Everyone here owns their domain. There is no bureaucracy between you and the work.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Video Editor who lives and breathes content. This is a full-spectrum editing role. One day you will be cutting a punchy 30-second Reel from an Oxford Talks interview. The next you will be finishing a polished 10-12 minute flagship video, editing a podcast episode, or turning event footage into something people actually want to watch.
You know short-form inside out. You follow trends closely enough to move fast when something lands. And you have the technical range to go from a TikTok cut to a broadcast-quality long-form edit without breaking a sweat.
If you are an editor who takes pride in every cut and understands that great content is about rhythm, pacing, storytelling, and knowing your audience, this role was written for you.
What You Will Own
✂️ Short-Form Content
- Editing high-performing short-form content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn
- Identifying the best moments from long-form footage and transforming them into shareable, platform-native clips
- Staying ahead of social media trends including formats, sounds, transitions, and hooks and applying them with taste and judgement
🎬 Long-Form Video
- Editing Oxford Talks flagship 10-12 minute interview and thought leadership videos to broadcast standard
- Colour grading, audio mixing, motion graphics, and titles across all long-form output
- Maintaining a consistent visual identity across every piece of content that leaves Oxford Talks

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What This Role Is Not
This is not a role where you wait to be briefed on every cut. You will bring creative ideas, flag what is working, and push the quality of our content forward. If you prefer to wait for a directive, this is not the right fit.
The Hiring Test
As part of the application process, we ask all candidates to complete a short creative task.
Take any existing Oxford Talks video from our YouTube channel and edit it into what you consider to be the best possible short-form clip. Submit your edit along with a brief written explanation of your creative process. Why did you choose that moment? What decisions did you make in the edit and why? What platform were you cutting for?
This is your opportunity to show us how you think, not just how you cut.

Submit your edit and process notes through the application portal along with your CV and portfolio.
