Paid Social Video Editor, Growth Team
Day rate: £300/day
The role
Some people edit videos. You'll edit videos that sell an acne solution that will change people's lives.
Our client makes supplements for hormonal and cystic acne. They sell them in the UK and US, mostly through paid social, which means growth comes down to one thing above all others: ads that work. They have the footage, the creators and the budget. What they don't have is someone in-house turning all of it into ads fast enough.
That's the job. Studio shoots, creator selfie footage, five-star reviews, genuinely dramatic before-and-afters: you cut them into ads, they put money behind them, and within days you find out whether you were right. Then you do it again with the ones that worked. It's the shortest feedback loop in marketing and it's addictive.
No decks. No six-week approval chains. Nobody grading you on your transitions. Just: did it beat the control?
What you'll do
- Cut high-production shoot footage into performance ads: hooks, demos, founder and expert pieces, offer and guarantee spots.
- Edit raw creator and UGC footage into ads that keep the creator's voice and still hit their structure: hook in the first two seconds, problem, mechanism, proof, offer, CTA.
- Build variants off winners: new hooks, new openers, different proof, re-cut lengths, re-ordered sections, so a winning concept gets ten shots, not one.
- Produce the static and motion cutdowns that come off the same footage (thumb-stoppers, carousels, GIFs) for Meta, TikTok, YouTube and retention email.
- Add the craft that carries claims: captions and subtitles, kinetic text, sound design, colour, before/after treatments, review and press overlays.
- Keep the footage library organised and tagged so any shoot or creator drop can be found and re-used months later.
- Version ads for market, UK and US, where claims, pricing or offers differ.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Who you'll work with
You report into the growth team and work daily with three people:
- Creative strategy: briefs you the angles, personas and hooks to test, and reviews cuts before they go live.
- COO and CEO: close to the numbers day to day; you work with them to understand what is winning, what is fatiguing and what the next round of creative should test.
- Influencer manager: hands you the creator and UGC footage, and takes your feedback on what to ask creators to shoot next.
They also work with an external media agency on Meta. You supply their creative queue; they do not brief you directly, requests come through growth so priorities stay in one place.
Must-haves
- 2+ years editing paid social video for a DTC, ecommerce or performance-led brand, with ads that ran with real spend behind them, not brand films or client showreels.
- A reel or folder of ads you cut with commentary around its performance.
- You can grade and pace a proper studio shoot, and you can make shaky iPhone UGC feel native rather than cheap.
- You understand direct response structure: hooks, retention curves, proof, offer, CTA, and can explain why a cut is built the way it is.
- Fast, organised and self-managing: you keep your own queue, name and file your own projects, and hit dates without being chased.
- Right to work in the UK.

Nice-to-haves
- Beauty, skincare, supplements or health experience, and an understanding of what you can and cannot claim in those categories.
- Fashion, beauty or luxury brand experience, with an eye for premium visual craft and brand consistency.
- You can shoot as well as edit: phone or camera, lighting, sound, directing a creator or a founder on camera.
- Motion graphics and sound design beyond the basics.
- You are comfortable suggesting or writing alternate hooks, lines and structures when you spot a stronger angle.
- You use AI tooling in the pipeline: transcription, rough cuts, upscaling, voice, generative b-roll, and know where it helps and where it looks fake.
- Experience building and running a creative library or asset management system.
How we'll measure you
The role is judged on what the ads do, not on how many were delivered. Three metrics matter:
- Win rate: share of your ads that beat the current control on CPA at meaningful spend.
- Creative throughput: concepts and variants shipped per week against the targets above, held steady rather than spiking.
Remote is fine
3 days per week, permanent work (long term contract, no end date)
To apply, send a CV and a reel or folder of three to five paid social ads you cut. For each one, tell us in a line or two what it was testing and how it performed.
Process. Portfolio review, a call with the COO, a paid test edit (you're given real footage and a brief, with 48 hours to turn it around), then a final conversation with the COO and CEO.
