Role Overview
We are looking for a versatile Video Editor to handle end-to-end video post-production across our digital channels. This role requires managing two primary formats: dedicated long-form YouTube videos (both personal talking-head discussions and narrative/faceless content) and fast-paced vertical short-form content (YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok).
Long-Form Video Responsibilities (Horizontal 16:9)
- Timeline Assembly: Cut and structure full-length YouTube videos (5–15+ minutes) with clean transitions and deliberate pacing.
- Format-Specific Pacing: Adapt cutting rhythms appropriately—allowing personal brand and talking-head discussions to breathe naturally, while maintaining engaging pacing and b-roll density on structured narrative videos.
- B-Roll & Visual Support: Source and composite stock footage, screen recordings, diagrams, and image overlays to illustrate key concepts.
- Audio Clean-Up: Balance voiceover/dialogue with background music (audio ducking) and remove background hiss or room echo.

Short-Form Video Responsibilities (Vertical 9:16)
- Shorts & Reels Production: Edit fast-paced vertical clips optimized for the first 3 seconds of viewer retention.
- Content Repurposing: Extract high-impact moments and core hooks from long-form episodes and package them into standalone short-form videos.
- Dynamic Captions: Create animated, styled subtitles and on-screen callouts formatted within platform safe zones.

- Software: Proficient in CapCut. Basic Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects familiarity is a plus.
- Pacing Sense: Clear understanding of when to edit fast (faceless/retention-driven clips) versus when to let a personal speaker hold attention without unnecessary jump cuts or meme clutter.
