Video Editor (Social) Long & Short-Form
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: £40,000–£45,000
We’re working with a successful and fast-growing digital publisher creating original content across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and other leading social platforms.
The business produces high-quality interviews, documentaries and personality-led formats featuring some of the UK’s most recognised entrepreneurs and business leaders. Its content reaches millions of viewers each month, making this a great opportunity to join an ambitious media company with a rapidly expanding audience.
They are looking for a talented Video Editor who can take ownership of both long- and short-form content from raw footage through to final delivery. Editing will be the main focus of the role, although you will also support filming, production planning and content development.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with strong storytelling instincts who understands how to create digital content that captures attention, retains viewers and performs across different platforms.
The Role
Working closely with the co-founders and wider creative team, you will lead the editing of long-form YouTube videos alongside short-form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
You will shape raw footage into engaging, polished and platform-appropriate content, with a strong focus on storytelling, pacing, structure and audience retention.
Alongside editing, you will support studio and location shoots, contribute to pre-production and help improve production and post-production processes. You will also have the opportunity to develop new ideas, formats and creative approaches as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit engaging long-form YouTube videos, including interviews, documentaries and personality-led content.
- Turn raw footage into structured and compelling stories with strong pacing and audience retention.
- Create high-performing short-form edits for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
- Repurpose long-form content into multiple platform-specific social assets.
- Select the strongest moments, hooks and narratives from interviews and longer recordings.
- Enhance edits using music, sound design, captions, graphics and motion elements.
- Complete colour correction, colour grading and audio mixing to deliver polished final content.
- Manage feedback, revisions and delivery deadlines across multiple projects.
- Organise footage, project files and post-production workflows.
- Film high-quality content in studio and on location when required.
- Set up and operate professional cameras, lighting and audio equipment.
- Support pre-production, including shoot planning, scheduling, shot lists and production logistics.
- Work closely with the founders to develop new content ideas, series and formats.
- Use content performance and audience insights to continually improve editing decisions.
- Stay up to date with editing styles, digital content trends and platform best practices.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
