📈 Who We Are:

We are rebuilding the energy transaction, making it transparent and fair.

Our goal is to put power back where it belongs, in the hands of customers and to take on one of the most critical problems of our century, access to low cost electricity.

tem exists to fix a broken global energy market that’s long favoured legacy operators, intermediaries, and opaque pricing. Today’s electricity system was not designed for rapid decarbonisation, AI-driven efficiency or fair access for the actual users - businesses and generators.

We’ve built the first AI native transaction infrastructure to reinvent how electricity is bought, sold and priced. Our technology is designed to cut out the inefficient fees, automate complex market flows, and bring transparency and fairness to energy transactions at scale.

In late 2025, after extraordinary growth, we closed a $75 million Series B - led by Lightspeed Venture Partners with participation from Albion, Atomico, Allianz, Hitachi Ventures, Hitachi Ventures, Schroders Capital and others - positioning us for global expansion, deeper product innovation and category leadership.

We’re scaling internationally and building toward a future where AI-driven infrastructure is foundational to electricity markets worldwide.

Since launch, our modern utility product, known as RED, has already facilitated thousands of business customers and billions in energy transaction value, proving that modern software and AI can transform an industry built on legacy systems.

At tem, we’re not just building another energy company, we’re rearchitecting market infrastructure so that transparency, efficiency and sustainability become the default, not the exception.

In short

We're looking for a Video Lead to shoot and edit for tem. Full-time, £70,000, based anywhere in the UK with shoots around the country.

tem connects businesses directly with the renewable generators that power them, which makes it an unusually diverse thing to film: solar and wind sites, the people who run them, the businesses buying from them, and the engineers building the technology in between. Here's some of what we've made so far: here, here, here and here.

The work we want to make

Two kinds of video, held to the same standard.

  • Considered films, where pacing, sound and framing carry the story and every shot is there for a reason. The kind someone who has never thought about energy watches to the end, because they've started to care about the person in it.
  • And social pieces that aren't templates: short cuts made with real intent, where the rhythm, timing, sound design and effects all serve the idea. Native to the platform, unmistakably crafted.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll move between the two in the same week without either one slipping.

If you're freelance - most of the best shooter-editors work for themselves, and we understand why. Here's what we'd want you to know.

This isn't corporate video. Generator stories, customer films, policy explainers, engineering pieces and people-led series - a social series one week, a customer film the next. When it's worth moving fast, we can go from idea to published within a week, if that’s what we collectively decide.

You'd be building something, not borrowing it. Rather than picking up someone else's style for a few weeks, you'd shape what tem's video looks and feels like, and build a body of work around it over years. You're expected, and encouraged, to argue when you see a better way.

Fewer feedback rounds. One brand, one small team, and a direct line to whoever wrote the brief. You learn tem once, properly.

The money. £70,000, stock options, paid holiday, and no invoices to chase or quiet months to plan around.

What You'll Own

tem's video from first shot to final export: how it's planned, shot and cut, and how it looks and sounds across everything we publish. You'll sit in the Brand team and report into the Content Lead.

  • Shoots. Planning properly - schedule, kit, shot list, a recce where it's worth it - then staying alert on the day for what the plan couldn't know. Running most shoots solo, and knowing when a piece needs extra crew and when a phone and good instincts will do.
  • People. Most of the generators, engineers and finance directors you'll film have never been on camera. Putting them at ease and getting the real version of them is half the job.
  • The edit (around 70% of your week). Cutting, grading, mixing and titling in Premiere Pro. Giving short social pieces the same care as the long ones, letting the considered films breathe, and making something good from very little when there's no shoot.
  • Story and style. Turning a brief or rough idea into how it should be shot and sequenced, pushing back when you see a better version, and developing a visual language for tem video over time.

How We Use AI (and How We Don't)

We're not looking for someone to make AI-generated films - our content works because it's real. We use tools where they earn their place: transcription and paper edits, selects, audio clean-up, subtitles, cutdowns and versioning, the occasional fix in post, and pre-production like moodboards and storyboards. We want someone curious enough to try new tools, with the judgement to know when not to.

What We're Looking For

Must haves

  • A portfolio, wherever it lives, that shows both halves: considered, human storytelling and social work cut with real intent.
  • A professional standard at both shooting and editing.
  • Speed without losing control.
  • The ability to plan and run a shoot yourself.
  • Good with people, on and off camera.
  • Sensible, hands-on use of AI tools in a real pipeline.
  • UK-based and happy to travel for shoots.

Bonus points

  • Premiere Pro, since it's what we cut in.
  • Colour, sound design or motion graphics beyond the basics.
  • A freelance or small-studio background.
  • An interest in energy, climate or tech.

What you get

  • £70,000 salary, reviewed twice a year.
  • Your say in what video kit we invest in for the content team.
  • Stock options so everyone has ownership in our mission.
  • 25 days holiday plus public holidays (swap them for the ones that matter to you), and your birthday off.
  • Remote first and flexible working, with no internal meetings on Friday afternoons.
  • Up to £1,200 a year for your remote setup and £150 a month for wellbeing.

How To Apply

  • Send us your work. Your portfolio plus two recent pieces, with a line on what you did on each via the application form.
  • A 30-minute conversation with Alex (Content Lead) and Chelsea.
  • A paid, one-hour edit challenge. We send you unreleased tem footage, you cut it, and we talk through your choices. Everyone who delivers an edit at this stage is paid £200, hired or not - we don't think ideas should be taken for free.
  • A final conversation with leadership.

Reading this and know someone who'd be great? If we hire them, we'll pay you £1,000

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities, including those that are traditionally underrepresented in the tech and energy sectors. If you’re excited about this role but not sure you meet every requirement, we’d still love to hear from you. Your unique perspective could be exactly what we’re looking for.
