Videographer & Editor

£40,000 per annum plus performance bonus and fantastic benefits

40 hours per week across 5 days, normally Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work where required for filming or events. Based onsite - BA7

Due to the location of the Estate a driving licence is recommended for this role

Our Videographer & Editor

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Videographer & Editor to shape how The Newt in Somerset is seen, experienced and remembered. Working across our extraordinary estate and wider business, you’ll create high-quality video content for social media, websites, campaigns and internal channels. From developing the initial idea and planning the shoot to filming, editing and delivering the final piece, you’ll have the creative freedom and technical expertise to tell compelling stories that capture the character of The Newt. Working closely with our Communications, Creative and Social Media teams, you’ll balance planned campaigns with emerging opportunities, ensuring every piece of content feels engaging, current and unmistakably Newt.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop creative ideas, storytelling approaches and video formats from concept through to final delivery.
  • Plan and deliver video shoots, including pre-production, scheduling, equipment and resource requirements.
  • Film, edit and complete post-production to agreed creative and technical standards and deadlines.
  • Prepare and export content in the right formats and specifications for different platforms and audiences.
  • Work closely with Social Media, Creative and Communications colleagues to deliver the content calendar and wider communications priorities.
  • Capture activity across the estate, responding to both planned and emerging storytelling opportunities.
  • Produce motion graphics, animation and typography-led video content in line with creative briefs.
  • Manage video archives, equipment and external production relationships, while staying up to date with developments in video and social content.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience filming, editing and packaging high-quality video content.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills with the ability to turn ideas and creative briefs into engaging content.
  • Experience planning and preparing shoots, including scheduling, equipment and resource requirements.
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and relevant Adobe Creative Suite applications.
  • Experience with audio recording and editing, motion graphics, animation and typography-led video.
  • A good technical understanding of video workflows, file types and pre- and post-production.
  • An organised and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative communicator who can work confidently both independently and with colleagues and external partners.
