About The Job

Working within Automotive Studio

At Haymarket, we’re home to some of the biggest and most loved consumer motoring brands in the UK, including What Car?, Autocar, and Classic & Sports Car. Our trusted, remarkable content reaches millions of people a month across digital, print, video, podcasts, apps and live events.

We are also home to Automotive Studio, a specialist creative agency crafting award-winning content, digital media, and marketing campaigns for the leading automotive brands. This role sits within Automotive Studio and focuses on producing engaging video content for MG Motor UK across digital and social channels.

The Role

The Videographer will bring the MG Motor UK brand to life through engaging, high-quality video content for digital and social channels. Taking ownership of the full production process, from initial concept and storyboarding through to filming and final edit, the role will create both long and short-form content that engages audiences ranging from automotive enthusiasts to prospective buyers. Working closely with the creative and social media teams, the Videographer will apply strong visual storytelling and technical expertise to deliver content that supports the client’s objectives, reflects the MG Motor UK brand and is optimised for the relevant platform and audience.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Video production and content creation

  • Plan, storyboard and deliver high-quality video shoots in the studio and on location, showcasing vehicle features, design and driving experiences.
  • Take ownership of video projects from initial brief and concept development through to filming, post-production and final delivery.
  • Operate camera, lighting and audio equipment safely and effectively to achieve consistently high production standards.

Post-production and editing

  • Edit raw footage into polished and engaging long and short-form video content for digital and social channels.
  • Apply appropriate colour grading, sound design, music and motion graphics to support the creative concept and brand style.
  • Ensure final video assets meet the required technical specifications, quality standards and delivery deadlines.

Content development and platform optimisation

  • Collaborate with creative, production and social media colleagues to develop original video concepts aligned with client objectives and audience interests.
  • Adapt video formats, aspect ratios, pacing and creative treatments for different platforms, including social-first and vertical video.
  • Use audience insight and content performance information to inform creative decisions and improve future video content.

Production coordination

  • Coordinate effectively with studio crew, lighting technicians, on-screen talent, influencers, models and other production partners.
  • Provide clear direction and communication during shoots to support safe, efficient and effective production.
  • Manage multiple production priorities and respond appropriately to changing requirements or challenges during filming and post-production.

Equipment and asset management

  • Maintain, prepare and troubleshoot camera, lighting, audio and grip equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is safely rigged, operated, stored and maintained in line with relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Manage, organise and archive digital video assets so that content can be accessed and reused effectively.

Key Relationships

The Videographer will work closely with the Social Media and Production Manager, as well as colleagues across Automotive Studio’s creative, production and social media teams, to develop and deliver engaging video content for MG Motor UK.

The role will also build effective working relationships with client stakeholders, studio crew, lighting technicians, on-screen talent, influencers, models and other production partners. Clear communication and collaboration will be essential to ensuring shoots are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the agreed creative brief.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
