Salary - £72,917 - £81,700

Changing Lives, Changing Futures

Nottingham City Council is on a significant journey of improvement, reform, and transformation across Children's and Education Services.

We are redesigning services, strengthening practice, and building a more connected system around children, young people, and families. With a clear vision, strong leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement, this is an exciting opportunity to join us and help shape the future of services across our city.

As Nottingham's Virtual School Head - You will play a key leadership role in improving the educational outcomes, aspirations, and life chances of children in care, previously looked after children, and children with a social worker.

As a key member of the Children's and Education Services Senior Leadership Team, you will provide strategic direction for the Virtual School, ensuring education remains central to the Council's corporate parenting responsibilities. Working closely with schools, social care, health partners, and wider stakeholders, alongside colleagues across the directorate, you will champion inclusion, attendance, achievement, and educational stability, ensuring vulnerable children and young people receive the support they need to thrive.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
