Visa and International Support (VIS) at Edinburgh Napier University sit within our International Operations and Student Recruitment team and provide expert support and guidance to staff and international students (both pre-entry, during their studies, and after graduation) on a wide range of matters including immigration rules, and international student welfare.
The team is responsible for providing high-quality immigration advice services to applicants, students, graduates, and their dependants and currently, we are recruiting a Visa Compliance Team Leader to lead the team and oversee the University's student engagement monitoring processes and visa compliance activity for Student visa holders throughout the student lifecycle.
The Role:
As Visa Compliance Team Leader, you will be in an excellent position to use your experience of working with UK Student immigration, sponsor compliance or other regulatory processes to manage the day-to-day operation of the Visa Compliance Team, ensuring an efficient, high-quality service that supports the University's Student sponsor compliance responsibilities.
Your ability to lead, motivate and support staff to deliver a high-quality service will be a crucial skill for this role, as you supervise, support and co-ordinate the work of the team, allocating workloads, setting priorities and ensuring deadlines are met, while simultaneously overseeing the University's student engagement monitoring processes, ensuring compliance with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Student sponsor requirements.

Your extensive knowledge of Student Visa compliance will also play a major part in how you deliver this role, and you will have the opportunity to use this to your full advantage as you manage complex and escalated student visa compliance cases, providing advice and guidance to team members and ensuring decisions are consistent with legislation, UKVI guidance and University policy.
Furthermore, your project management, process improvement or audit experience will also serve you well as you contribute to the development and continuous improvement of compliance processes, operational procedures, guidance and management information to strengthen the University's Student sponsor compliance framework.

What we will need from you:
- Degree or equivalent relevant professional qualification or significant relevant experience in a comparable role.
- Experience of working with UK Student immigration, sponsor compliance or other regulatory processes
- Experience of managing complex operational processes and ensuring compliance with legislation, policy or regulatory requirements.
- Project management, process improvement or audit experience
- Ability to lead, motivate and support staff to deliver a high-quality service
- Experience of SITS, Sponsor Management System (SMS) or other student record/compliance systems (desirable)

Additional information:
- Salary: £37,694 - £38,784 (depending on experience)
- Contract: Permanent, Full Time – 35 hrs/wk, (hybrid 2-3 days on campus).
