Visitor Economy Executive

Location: United Kingdom

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and organised Visitor Economy Executive to support initiatives that strengthen tourism, visitor spending, and the overall visitor experience.

The successful candidate will work across marketing, tourism development, partnerships, research, and stakeholder engagement to help promote destinations and support the growth of the visitor economy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and delivery of visitor economy strategies and initiatives.
  • Assist with tourism marketing campaigns and destination promotion activities.
  • Research visitor trends, consumer behaviour, tourism markets, and industry developments.
  • Support projects designed to increase visitor numbers, spending, engagement, and length of stay.
  • Coordinate with tourism businesses, hospitality providers, attractions, local organisations, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of tourism events, campaigns, workshops, and promotional activities.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, research summaries, and performance updates.
  • Monitor tourism and visitor economy performance indicators.
  • Assist with digital content, social media, newsletters, and other visitor-facing communications.
  • Identify new opportunities to improve destination visibility and visitor experiences.
  • Maintain accurate records of projects, partnerships, campaigns, and stakeholder activities.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for visitor economy projects.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations to support sustainable tourism growth.

Requirements

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Tourism, Hospitality, Marketing, Business, Economics, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong interest in tourism, travel, hospitality, and destination development.
  • Good research, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in tourism, marketing, hospitality, or business development is advantageous but not essential for entry-level candidates.

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of the UK tourism and visitor economy sector.
  • Familiarity with destination marketing and tourism development.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar productivity tools.
  • Basic knowledge of digital marketing and social media.
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, or market research is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with tourism performance data and industry trends is beneficial.
