About The Role

As a Visitor Experience Assistant, you will help deliver a warm, inclusive, and world-class visitor experience, engaging with people of all ages and backgrounds and helping them to make the most of their visit.

You will work as part of a dynamic team on a daily rota, welcoming and inspiring visitors, engaging them with the collections and activities, and helping to keep visitors and collections safe. You will contribute to the Museum’s financial sustainability by encouraging donations, Gift Aid and membership, raising awareness of the public programme, and providing excellent customer service. You will also work with security teams, support safe evacuation during an emergency, and take part in Tuesday training sessions.

These are permanent, part-time posts. The following posts are available:

  • 35 hours per week / 0.9589 FTE (2 posts)
  • 28 hours per week / 0.7671 FTE (1 post)
  • 21 hours per week / 0.5753 FTE (3 posts)

All patterns include one weekend day per week. All patterns require working on a Tuesday.

About You

You will have experience of, and a passion for, delivering excellent customer service. You will be a confident team player who thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment, with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to problem solving. You will have excellent attention to detail, a passion for museums and cultural venues, and an awareness of the importance of health, safety, and security for people and collections.
