Join us as Visits and Events Assistant focusing primarily on planning, preparation, and delivery of visits and events typically hosted in our Visitor Centre in our Trowbridge-based head office.

Our Visitor Centre hosts guests several times a week across all walks of life from specialists such as Facilities Managers and Dietitians to Politicians, Councillors, and CEOs. Working alongside our Visits and Events Supervisor, this role plays a pivotal role in planning, organising, and hosting a VIP experience for our visitors in our dedicated facility.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a tenacious, organised host with outstanding customer service skills and attention to detail to work within a supportive, experienced, passionate (and fun!) team.
This is a part-time role for 22.5 hours, three days a week, with flexibility to work on various days of the week when required.
Who we are
apetito is the UK’s leading food supplier to the health and social care sectors serving more than 1,300 care homes, health care, and education settings.
Our meals are expertly crafted by our dieticians and chefs, and then frozen to lock in the goodness.
Wiltshire Farm Foods, our sister company, is the UK’s largest ready meal supplier cooking and delivering over 330 different delicious frozen ready meals across the UK.
Responsibilities
- Administration of Visits: Assist in the planning and organisation of visits in our Visitor Centre including menu management and planning, agenda building, and presenter booking whilst communicating and collaborating with internal visit hosts.
- Hosting Visits: Prepare the Visitor Centre space for each visit. Ensure the space is always clean, tidy, and showcasing the business at its best at all times. Ensure you present yourself professionally to all guests.
- Meal Preparation: Cook, present, and serve meals across the vast apetito | Wiltshire Farm Foods portfolio to guests. Maintain an outstanding level of food safety and cleanliness in the space’s dedicated kitchen.
- Internal Events: Supporting internal events such as corporate conferences and inductions with top-tier dining experiences.
- Tech Support: Develop familiarity and competency with the technology within the Visitor Centre featuring immersive screens, presentation TVs, and video conferencing equipment, alongside our internal IT department to ensure the seamless experience for all guests.
- Wider Business Support: The apetito Marketing team support and collaborate with the wider business on numerous other projects so you will be expected to step outside the visits and events world and contribute across other facets of Marketing. This role will require you to support numerous ad hoc requests so flexibility and adaptability is essential.

About you
Essential:
- Demonstratable experience in a customer service role.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both digitally and face-to-face.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative working style.
- Proactive and highly organised with strong organisation skills.
- Adaptable with a commitment to continual learning and skill development.
- Able to work at pace to ensure timescales and deadlines are met.
- Computer literacy (particularly Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams)
- Making a real difference: Willing to go the extra mile to ‘make a real difference’ for our business and our customers. Shows passion, enthusiasm, ambition, and drive.

Desirable:
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen.
- Food presentation skills and/or experience.
- Food hygiene qualification.
- UK driving licence.
