Brighton | Hybrid | Full-time | £30,000–£40,000

We are working with an established creative business in Brighton that is looking for an ambitious Visual Designer to join its team.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone building their design career who already has strong visual instincts, genuinely cares about producing great work and wants to develop quickly alongside an experienced creative team.

You do not need years of commercial experience.

What matters much more is that you have a great eye for design, understand what makes visual work effective and care about getting the details right.

The role

You will work alongside an experienced creative team across a genuinely varied mix of projects.

Your work could include:

  • Creative campaigns
  • Website and screen-based creative
  • Brand-led design
  • Marketing and social content
  • Presentation and pitch design
  • Visual concepts and creative development
  • Digital assets across a range of formats

You will be involved in more than simply taking finished ideas and making them look good. There will be plenty of opportunity to contribute ideas, explore different visual approaches and help develop work from an initial concept through to polished final execution.

The team cares equally about how something looks and how well it works. That means bringing the same level of thought and attention to a major campaign as you would to a presentation, piece of content or smaller creative asset.

What we are looking for

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You should have a strong grounding in visual design fundamentals, including typography, layout and composition, visual hierarchy, colour and imagery, consistency, accessibility and attention to detail.

Figma and Adobe Creative Suite are core tools for the role.

You should be comfortable using them to produce polished visual work across campaign, brand, content, presentation and screen-based projects.

Your portfolio matters more to us than the number of years on your CV. We want to see strong visual judgement, evidence that you can turn ideas into finished design and, where possible, some of the thinking and development behind your work rather than only the final pieces.

Your experience could have come through an employed role, internship, freelance work, university projects or projects you have developed independently.

The kind of person who will do well

You are likely to be someone who takes real pride in the quality of their work, notices the details other people might miss and has genuine opinions about what good design looks like.

You will be comfortable taking ownership of your work, sharing ideas before they are perfect and responding positively to feedback.

You will enjoy learning from experienced designers and creatives, but you will also be willing to experiment, try things for yourself and keep developing your own judgement.

You should be happy getting involved wherever a project needs you. Some briefs will naturally feel more exciting than others, but the level of care you bring to the work should stay the same.

Above all, you should be curious, ambitious and genuinely interested in becoming better at your craft.

Design, technology and AI

There is a real interest within the team in what is happening across design, digital and emerging creative technology. That includes AI.

You certainly do not need to be an AI expert, but you should be curious about the tools becoming available, interested in experimenting with them and keen to understand how they can support and influence creative work.

Why consider it?

You will be joining a relatively small creative team, which means you will have the opportunity to get properly involved.

You will work alongside experienced people, contribute ideas, see projects develop from early thinking through to finished work and gain exposure to a broad range of creative briefs.

For someone who wants to build breadth, improve quickly and become a seriously strong designer, there is plenty of opportunity here.

Alongside a £30,000–£40,000 salary, depending on experience, our client offers hybrid working in Brighton, a comprehensive benefits package, support for learning and professional development, health and wellbeing benefits, pension, enhanced family leave and additional employee schemes.

If you are a Visual Designer with a strong eye, plenty of curiosity and a portfolio you are proud of, we would love to hear from you.

Please apply with your CV and portfolio.
