Role Description

The Visual Merchandiser role is a full-time, on-site position based in Glasgow City. This role is responsible for planning and implementing eye-catching window displays and in-store visual layouts that align with Primark’s brand, seasonal campaigns, and commercial priorities. Day-to-day tasks include styling mannequins, arranging product displays, maintaining visual standards across departments, and updating signage and promotional materials. The Visual Merchandiser collaborates closely with store management and sales teams to optimize product placement, drive customer engagement, and support sales performance. The role also involves monitoring customer flow, adapting layouts to improve the shopping experience, and ensuring that all visual merchandising complies with health and safety and brand guidelines.

  • Strong retail and customer service skills, with experience in a fast-paced store environment.
  • Proven ability in sales and a commercial mindset to create displays that drive product interest and revenue.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with store teams and convey visual concepts clearly.
  • Practical experience in window displays and visual merchandising, with an eye for detail, color, and styling.
  • Ability to work on-site in Glasgow City, including flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and peak trading periods.
  • Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Comfort with manual handling tasks and working on ladders or in varied store environments, in line with safety procedures.
  • Previous experience in fashion retail or visual merchandising is preferred; relevant vocational training or design/merchandising qualifications are an advantage.
