Visual Merchandiser – M&S Kensington, London

Working pattern: On-site, including early starts and occasional overnight work where required.

Role Description
We are looking for a creative, proactive and commercially minded Visual Merchandiser to join our team at M&S Kensington.
You will help bring our brand and products to life through engaging window displays, inspiring product presentations and effective in-store layouts. Working closely with the Visual Merchandising team, store management and sales colleagues, you will ensure that our departments reflect M&S brand standards while supporting seasonal launches, promotional activity and business priorities.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that combines creativity with practical execution, organisation and problem-solving. You will need to adapt quickly to changing priorities, maintain high presentation standards and contribute to creating an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain inspiring window displays, mannequin styling and in-store visual merchandising presentations in line with M&S guidelines.
- Support seasonal launches, promotional activity and new product initiatives, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Style products and coordinate colours, shapes and outfits to create visually engaging and commercially effective displays.
- Maintain high standards of presentation, ensuring departments are tidy, organised and visually consistent.
- Work collaboratively with the Visual Merchandising team, store management and sales colleagues to deliver business priorities.
- Monitor stock availability and work with the wider store team to ensure products are presented effectively.
- Review and refresh displays regularly in response to seasonal changes, commercial needs and customer shopping behaviour.
- Manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and adapt to changing demands in a busy retail environment.
- Follow health and safety procedures when handling equipment, moving fixtures and completing display installations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in retail, ideally within Visual Merchandising, fashion or lifestyle retail.
- A strong eye for colour, styling, proportion and detail, with a passion for creating inspiring visual presentations.
- An understanding of how effective Visual Merchandising supports customer experience and commercial performance.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across different departments.
- Physically fit and comfortable with the physical demands of the role, including standing for long periods and regularly pushing, pulling, lifting and moving fixtures, clothing rails and display equipment safely.
- A proactive, practical and solution-focused approach to work.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work early starts and occasional overnight shifts when required.
- Basic IT skills and the ability to follow visual merchandising guidelines and planograms.
- A willingness to learn, receive feedback and develop your Visual Merchandising skills.
