Are you a designer with a fun, ambitious eye who wants your work seen by tens of millions of people, every single day? Then read on!

Pulse Group are very proud currently partnering with an award-winning digital storytelling team that's responsible for creating some of the most engaging visual journalism!

This is a fantastic opportunity for designers who love creating visually engaging digital experiences. Whether your background is editorial, branding, digital design, or interactive storytelling, this team is looking for ambitious creatives with a brilliant eye for design and a passion for pushing ideas further.

We're hiring across two levels as the team scales:

  • Visual Storytelling Designer (up to £45k) — build your core design chops on a live newsroom desk. General graphic design background welcome. No editorial experience needed, we'll teach you the news side.
  • Senior Visual Storytelling Designer (up to £65k) — lead Deep Dive-style interactive projects, shape creative direction, and mentor the team around you.

You'll work on everything from breaking news graphics through to immersive interactive features, collaborating with Editorial, Product, Picture Desk, and Video teams to create industry-leading content.

What they're looking for:

  • A strong eye for typography, layout, and visual hierarchy
  • Adobe Creative Suite & Figma experience
  • Passion for creating engaging digital experiences
  • Confident collaborating across creative and cross-functional teams
  • Data visualisation or mapping experience is a plus (Senior level)
  • A portfolio that demonstrates creativity, personality, and strong design thinking
  • HTML, CSS & JavaScript experience is a bonus
