Application Engineer Leader, VKS (EMEA)
Broadcom Software is seeking a technical leader to head up Application Engineering for vSphere Kubernetes Service (vKS) in the EMEA region. This position requires a mix of hands-on technical credibility and strategic leadership to accelerate enterprise adoption of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) with vKS as the standard Kubernetes platform for private cloud.
As the regional lead, you will define how vKS gets implemented and scaled in the field, build strong technical partnerships with customers and ecosystem partners, and lead a team of application engineers to deliver tangible business outcomes across the region.
Key Accountabilities
Regional Strategy & Execution
- Translate Broadcom’s global vKS vision into actionable programs for EMEA, ensuring adoption goals, pipeline impact, and customer success metrics are achieved.
Executive Customer Engagement
- Represent Broadcom in strategic accounts across the region, influencing CIO/CTO-level roadmaps and positioning VCF + vKS as the enterprise Kubernetes platform of choice.
Solution Architecture Leadership
- Guide solution design across Container based application, infrastructure, and DevOps domains, and work very closely with customers’ platforms team, infrastructure teams.

Sales & Delivery Support
- Partner with regional account executives to drive technical validation, presales success, PS scoping, and smooth handoffs to delivery teams.
Field-to-Product Feedback
- Capture customer insights to influence vKS and VCF product direction, ensuring regional requirements and enterprise demands are represented.
Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and inspire a regional team of Application Engineers; establish best practices, frameworks, and enablement models that scale adoption.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years in enterprise application engineering, with 5+ years in cloud-native/Kubernetes platforms.
- Strong Kubernetes, DevOps, CI/CD, Open Source tools background with pipeline automation and enterprise deployment practices.
- Rich and proven experience working with Platform teams.
- CNCF certifications
- Proven record of leading technical teams across a geographic region (direct or matrixed).
- Strong executive presence with ability to influence enterprise decision makers.
- Deep experience scaling Kubernetes, containers, or modern application platforms in large, regulated enterprises.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures: microservices, APIs, CI/CD, event-driven designs.
- Technical expertise in Kubernetes, VCF, containers, and leading platforms (EKS, AKS, GKE, Red Hat OpenShift). Red hat OpenShift Prior experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to understand and write YAML scripts.
- Demonstrated ability to work across sales, business development, and delivery functions.

Highly Desirable
- Experience with middleware, databases, API management, or application frameworks (e.g., Spring, React).
- Knowledge of enterprise requirements: HA, scalability, compliance, RTO/RPO.
- Infrastructure foundations: networking, storage, backup, and DR strategies.
- Prior experience engaging with regional teams to drive co-selling motions.
