Vehicle Line Manager (VLM) for Software & Electronics Technology (SW&ET)

At Aston Martin, we are redefining the future of luxury performance vehicles through world-class engineering, innovation, and technology. As Vehicle Line Manager (VLM) for Software & Electronics Technology (SW&ET), you will play a pivotal leadership role at the heart of vehicle development, ensuring the successful integration and delivery of increasingly sophisticated software, electrical, and electronic systems that define the modern Aston Martin driving experience.

This is a highly visible and influential position, responsible for translating product, technical, and programme requirements into robust and executable delivery plans across software, electrical engineering, systems integration, and electronics technologies. Working in close partnership with Engineering Team Leaders, Technical Authorities, and Programme Leadership, you will ensure engineering strategies, vehicle objectives, and programme priorities remain aligned from concept creation through engineering release, validation, industrialisation, and production launch.

As the primary programme interface for SW&ET, you will drive delivery performance across complex and interdependent workstreams, maintaining clear visibility of programme status, risks, opportunities, and dependencies. You will be accountable for ensuring hardware, software, systems, feature integration, electrical architecture, and validation activities are delivered in line with vehicle milestones, gateway reviews, and build events.

Success in this role will require exceptional cross-functional leadership. You will create alignment and accountability across Engineering, Programme Management, Design, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Finance, Logistics, suppliers, and external engineering partners, ensuring timely decision-making and effective resolution of complex technical and programme challenges. You will facilitate vehicle-level discussions, challenge delivery assumptions where required, and ensure that programme decisions are supported by robust technical, financial, and timing considerations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
