5 days per week (37.5 hours)
Salary £34,069 to £52,835 per annum (MPS - UPS) depending on experience

Ascent Autism Specialist College is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Vocational Pathway Teacher to lead and develop our vocational curriculum. We welcome applications from qualified teachers or vocational practitioners with QTS who have experience of vocational pathway delivery with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Animal Care
- Horticulture
- Retail
- Joinery
This exciting role combines specialist vocational teaching with the delivery of Preparation for Adulthood outcomes and accredited learning programmes for autistic students aged 16-25. This is an exciting opportunity to develop our Vocational Learning Hub and support skill building and employability.
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing engaging, meaningful and aspirational learning experiences that develop students' independence, employability skills, community participation and pathways into adulthood.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has teaching qualifications or significant vocational training experience.
- Has expertise in either Animal Care, Horticulture, Retail, Joinery, or a related vocational field.
- Is able to teach across a varied curriculum including accredited learning and RARPA pathways.
- Understands or is willing to learn specialist approaches to supporting autistic students.
- Is passionate about preparing young people for employment, independent living and life beyond education.
- Can develop accredited and non-accredited learning opportunities linked to real-life contexts.
- Is committed to high expectations, inclusivity and person-centred practice.
