Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Voice Engineer to join our IT Operations team.

This role is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and continuous improvement of our voice and telephony platforms.

You'll play a key role in delivering resilient, secure, and high-performing voice services across the business, working with SIP-based communications, contact centre technologies, carrier connectivity, voice infrastructure, call routing, and telephony integrations.

Whilst we use Five9 at Radius, we're equally interested in candidates who have supported comparable enterprise telephony or contact centre platforms. The key requirement is strong SIP and VoIP expertise and the ability to troubleshoot and optimise complex voice environments.

This role is based alongside the team in Crewe, with a hybrid pattern of 3 days per week in the office.

What you'll be doing...

  • Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise voice and unified communications platforms.
  • Manage SIP trunks, Session Border Controllers (SBCs), call routing, and dial plans.
  • Support cloud telephony platforms, including contact centre solutions.
  • Maintain voice platform availability, resilience, and performance.
  • Investigate and resolve voice-related incidents and service requests.
  • Diagnose SIP signalling, media flow, and call quality issues.
  • Work with telecommunications providers and vendors to resolve carrier issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
  • Support voice network requirements, including QoS, firewalls, routing, and security.
  • Assist with telephony migrations, platform upgrades, and transformation projects.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity requirements for voice services.
  • Proactively monitor voice environments and service performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve call quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Produce reports on service availability, utilisation, and performance metrics.
  • Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Develop and maintain voice engineering standards and best practices.
  • Support audit, compliance, and security requirements relating to voice services.

What we're looking for...

  • Proven experience of enterprise-level voice and collaboration platforms and call recording and reporting solutions.
  • Strong experience supporting SIP-based voice solutions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Teams phone including direct routing and Operator Connect.
  • Excellent understanding of SIP signalling, RTP, and VoIP technologies.
  • Experience with Session Border Controllers.
  • Knowledge of carrier connectivity, SIP trunking, and number management.
  • Experience supporting cloud telephony and contact centre platforms.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex voice and call quality issues.
  • Strong networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, QoS, firewalls, and routing.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
